A minimalist and calming interior

Rowena’s interior is light and understated, but it wasn’t always like this. “My style has actually changed quite a bit over the past two years,” Rowena says. “We have a large family and that is busy enough. It’s nice when your interior is truly calming. That’s why our interior has become increasingly minimalist.” Rowena and her husband Juriaan are also very creative. “We make everything ourselves, from wood for example. And I like to use second-hand items, we refurbish them and give them our own twist.”

As an interior lover and stylist, Rowena often changes her wall decor. “I love change. I really enjoy rearranging and want to be able to switch continuously. Plus: I hate drilling,” she laughs. “When we moved here four years ago, there were hardly any holes in the walls. I wanted to keep it that way. The Click Rail picture hanging system from Artiteq was therefore really ideal for us.”

The rails in the same color as the wall

The picture hanging system has been installed by a technician from Artiteq in the living room over a length of almost ten meters. "It went really fast and simple. The technician attached a clip to the wall every 40 centimeters, and you just press the rails in there," Rowena explains. "And the best part is: you can hardly see it. The rails are painted in a base color (RAL9016), and you can repaint it easily. I did that, just with wall paint. Where the wall is sand-colored, the rails are too. And on the white walls, the rails are also white. That makes it hardly noticeable."

Perlon hanging wires & Twister Hooks

Rowena is very pleased with changing the frames and paintings. "I like that there are so many different accessories. What I use the most are the Twister perlon hanging wires. You can hardly see them. The Twister Hooks are also very handy. I use them, for example, at Christmas to hang decorations, and for birthdays for streamers. The system is also incredibly strong. I have attached a heavy mirror with two hooks and perlon wire to the rails, and it hangs very stably. I never worry that it will fall to the ground or anything," she says with a laugh.

Are there any downsides to the Artiteq hanging system? "Well, it can sometimes be a bit tricky to hang the frames tightly against the wall," Rowena tells. "You can cut the wires to size. But if you often change wall decorations, you don't always want to do that. It takes some time to roll up the wire and stick it behind the painting or photo frame. And of course, a frame with a nail hangs a bit tighter against the wall. But if you ask me, that absolutely pales in comparison to the advantages of this system."

No more drilling

So what are those advantages according to Rowena? “The most important thing is, of course, that you don’t have to drill. Well, yes, you do have to drill a few holes once to hang up the picture hanging system. But then you’re done for good! And changing things is so easy and quick. Furthermore, there is a suitable hanging solution for every type of wall decoration. For example, there are special magnetic hanging wires (Picture Mouse) for photos and cards. And if you like to hang plants, there are also special accessories (Loop Maker or Botaniq) for that. I really think it’s ideal.”
