Something different on the wall each season
A look inside the house @socelebrate
If anyone frequently changes home and wall decor, it is Saskia de Laat! This enthusiastic blogger @socelebrate has been sharing inspiration about Christmas and other holidays through her two blogs for 13 years. The Artiteq Click Rail hanging system gives her the flexibility to hang something different on the wall each season.
Love for Change
Saskia lives with her husband Robert in Eindhoven. Their interior has a neutral and calm base, but looks slightly different every season. “I absolutely hate choosing furniture, but I love home decor,” Saskia says. “I change the styling at home every now and then. Firstly, because I love change; I enjoy regularly altering details in the house. But the main reason is my work as a content creator. I share inspiration about the seasons and holidays and, of course, I want to show something new to my followers and readers regularly.”
Seasonal Inspiration
Saskia has two different blogs. “The biggest one is Christmaholic,” she says. “There, I share Christmas inspiration with other enthusiasts from mid-September to the end of December. Think of decoration tips, creative DIY projects, and gift ideas. I also make cozy Christmas vlogs. For that, we visit various Christmas markets and Christmas shows in garden centers every year to capture the atmosphere on video.”
When she’s not focused on Christmas, Saskia shares inspiration about celebrating the seasons through her second blog So Celebrate! “I’m very enthusiastic about vegetable gardening and growing flowers, so I love creating content about that. Additionally, I always decorate my home exuberantly for the different seasons and holidays. I change the cushions on the couch and the decorations on the shelves in my cabinets and kitchen. And of course, I regularly change the wall decor!”
Change Often
Saskia never keeps the same thing on the wall for long. “Hammering nails into the walls is something I really shouldn’t do,” she laughs. “I do it sometimes, but I always regret it. Decoration never stays in the same place for long here. That’s why I’m so happy with my Artiteq Click Rail hanging system. It’s now mounted on two walls in my living room and one wall in the bedroom. The installer from Artiteq hung it up in just a few hours, it went really fast. Now I can change the decorations in my home as often as I want!”
Special Wall Decorations
Of course, Saskia also hangs photo frames, posters, or paintings on the walls. But usually, they are other wall decorations. “Above our sofa, I hung three large decorative fans last autumn, I find them so festive,” Saskia shares. “At Easter, I usually go all out. I love making seasonal decorations myself. Since I got the Click Rail, I prefer to hang my Easter branches. Above the sofa, for example. After Easter, I leave the Easter branches up and replace the Easter decorations with King’s Day decorations. Think of orange crowns, red-white-blue bows, and vases with orange tulips.”
Saskia’s favorite time of the year is undoubtedly the lead-up to Christmas. “In October and November, I go all out decorating the house,” she enthusiastically shares. “I place a (small) Christmas tree in almost every room of the house. And I always hang something nice on the wall in the bedroom. Last Christmas, for example, there was a neon lamp with the text Silent Night above our bed.”
With loop makers, you can hang up anything
For hanging her decorations, Saskia usually uses the Artiteq Loop Maker. “The Loop Makers are ideal for hanging special decorations. It can be a bit fiddly to turn the tiny screws in the Loop Makers, especially for someone with little patience like me,” she laughs. “But the advantage is that you can hardly see them in the end. And you can really hang up anything with them!”
In places in the house where there are currently no Artiteq rails, Saskia usually uses sticky nails. “That works quite well in itself. But there are also many disadvantages,” she thinks. “It’s always a question of whether you can remove them without leaving marks on the wall. And sticky nails are much less flexible. You have to decide in advance where to stick the nail, and if you’re not satisfied with the position afterwards, you have to remove the nail and stick it higher.”
Flexibility
“With the Artiteq hanging system, you don’t have to worry about that at all. Higher, lower, to the left, to the right, it can all be done and is so easy. I love that flexibility. Actually, I want to have the system throughout my entire house. My plan is to paint the wall behind my desk in my home office this year, and then I also want to attach an Artiteq Click Rail right away. I can’t wait to fill the wall with beautiful wall decorations in Christmas themes this fall!”
